You apply the ointment to the final organ, and watch as its pumping and writhing slow to an acceptable crawl. Sirisana examines the application site to ensure there's no adverse reaction, then you find a place to sit and wait for a few minutes.

Once Sirisana is confident the balm has taken effect without any complications, she lets out a sigh of relief. "If we're right, this should slow the terravore's movements back to its original pace, at least for a while."

Complete the DEAD SLOW mission. Record TERRAVORE SLOWED on the campaign tracker. Each Ranger soothes 2 fatigue.

If you completed OUT OF ITS DEPTH, go to 1.263. Otherwise, continue reading:

With the terravore successfully slowed down, it will be many decades before it reaches the biological outpost. By then, Sirisana and the other researchers will have either relocated, or found a way to change the terravore's course. But you cannot help but wonder what might have been the root cause of the terravore's acceleration in the first place. Something must have happened deep within the terravore to agitate it, triggering the fight-or-flight response you noted earlier.

"There has to be something we're missing," Sirisana responds after you voice your concerns to her. "Something that set all of this off."

Silence hangs in the air. With no answer in sight, Sirisana sighs and shakes her head. "Regardless, thank you for your help. We and the rest of the researchers at the biological outpost are in your debt."

You shake Sirisana's hand and exchange goodbyes. Your heart swells with the pride of a job well done. For now, at least, the terravore should no longer pose any danger to the people of the Valley.

Complete HELPFUL BIOLOGIST (SIRISANA MIR) and return Sirisana to the collection.

The terravore is no longer an immediate threat to the biological outpost, but the root cause of the terravore's behavior remains a mystery.
