In that moment, however, the muscles contract, and you feel as though you're being moved at great speed down a precipitously steep slope. Unable to breathe, your lungs begin to burn. Just when you feel you won't be able to hold out much longer, you find yourself thrown into the open air. You gasp, falling into space before landing in a deep pool of sludge.
You hurriedly swim to the surface, clear the slime from your mouth, and take a deep breath of acrid air. It burns your throat, but you swear you've never taken a sweeter breath in all your life.
As your heart rate steadies and your eyes adjust, you see that you're in yet another pulsing, organic chamber. Great cascades of ooze pour from the walls to gather below in wide blackened pools.
Here, the digestive sludge seems to be broken down further into a gaseous compound that wafts upward to settle along the ceiling. Perhaps this is very same gas that is exhaled out of the openings on the terravore's back.
The terravore must have a defense mechanism of sorts; it seems to have used it to flush you down into its innermost depths. You wonder what else may be down here…
