"I've been studying it day in and day out," she says. "Given its obvious anatomical similarities to natural butterflies, I'm reasonbly certain that it was created to aid in the pollination of flowering plants, but what is most fascinating to me is that unlike so many other biomelds, it has not evolved into something outwardly monstrous or enigmatic in its purpose. Whoever conceived and created it should be applauded for their foresight…and their impeccable sense of style."

You note that the terravore, while perhaps not as visually appealing as the glass butterfly, has also seemingly not strayed from its originally intended purpose.

"Right you are," says Tiella. "Though who among us can truly know for certain what the ancestors intended? Personally, I just think it's fun to speculate, and then test my theories against observable reality––whatever it is!"
