You wade several feet into the lake and try to get a glimpse of what's moving beneath the surface. That's when you spot it—a ridge that emerges from the thick sludge––the back of an enormous entity, easily six or seven meters long, if you had to venture a guess.

While there's no way to know for sure, you get the sense that this being is an intruder here, and that perhaps its presence is causing the terravore intestinal distress––a parasite of incredible size, grown to match the tremendous scale of its host, siphoning nutrients and disrupting the terravore's normal digestive processes. You can recognize the fact that you're taking some big logical leaps in reaching this conclusion, but your village elders always encouraged you to trust your instincts, and your instincts tell you that something here in this grotesque, nightmarish pastiche of bubbling fluids, glistening flesh, and sickening odors is entirely out of place.
