As the light of dawn breaks, your gaze is guided toward the northern horizon by the flight of a bird, and there your eyes settle on something unusual: a dark, menacing stormcloud whirling in place over Sentinel Peak, the white-capped mountain at the very northern end of the Valley. You recognize it as a cloud laden with snow—quite unusual weather for this time of year. A chill breeze blows from that direction, and a sense of foreboding fills your heart. There is something strange about that cloud. You resolve to investigate as soon as you are able.
